Motivational Theory and Marketing Strategies Marketers have to understand the motives of their potential customers to enjoy good sales. A buyer has several motives and each change with various elements. In such cases the marketers can readily help their customers by changing their marketing strategy so that the conflict is resolved. Following are the major conflicts that may arise − Approach Conflict − This conflict arises when a consumer has two different choices of similar products or services. He gives equal importance to them, but is unable to choose one over the other. Approach Avoidance Conflict − This type of conflict happens when the consumer decides in favor of a product, but is unhappy with a particular feature of the product and wants to avoid it. Under such circumstances, the marketer may come up with few modifications in the existing product and make it suitable for the consumer.

1. Write down your resolutions - putting your thoughts down on paper is a great way to cement them in your mind and belief system. And, this is true of habits, too. Write down clearly and concisely the new habits you want to develop, and then...
2. Commit to 30 days - by their very nature, habits take time to become habits! Research on this topic suggests that, for most of us, it takes at least 30 days of performing an action for it to become a habit.
For example, if you want to read an inspirational book for 30 minutes every evening, you would need to do this every day for a month before it became automatic to pick up a book and read for the desired time.

3. Focus on the benefits - positive habits inevitably bring positive results. And one of the best ways to stay on track with new habits is to focus on the benefits they will bring.
Continuing the example above, reading an inspirational book for 30 minutes each evening will fill your mind and soul with creative ideas, help to de-stress you, and keep your spirits high. It may also help you to sleep more peacefully.
By keeping your focus on the benefits of new habits, you’ll be able to side step any teething problems, and keep yourself firmly on the right path to successfully adopt the new habits.
